Fortunately acrylic’s physical properties allow it to easily be buffed with special, slightly abrasive solutions. If a scratch is less than 5 mm deep, it’s a simple procedure to fix acrylic.If some scratches are still visible, get the sandpaper, water, acrylic polish, and a fresh, clean cotton or microfiber cloth. Then, follow these steps: Wet one piece of 800 grit sandpaper - run it over the scratch in a circular motion and repeat with a dry piece of 800 grit sandpaper. Alternate between the dry and wet sandpaper, rubbing for 2 to 3 minutes. Don’t worry if your acrylic begins to look more frosty or appear to have more little scratch marks on it - this will go away during the process.

Then, follow this procedure to remove moderately deep (under 5 mm) scratches from acrylic: Take a good look at these mild scratches. Instead, use an abrasive acrylic polish (we recommend Novus No. 2) directly on the scratched area and apply consistent, moderate pressure to a clean, soft rag.
